Bakersfield Budo is once again honored to host Carl Long, Hanshi Ho, Soshihan of the Kokusai Nippon Budo Kai for an instructor seminar on Friday, May 15th and a TWO DAY Gasshuku, Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17th. Friday’s Koshukai will be concerned with direct instruction from Long Sensei, 22nd Soshihan of the KNBK, on the teaching practices and methods for Licensed KNBK instructors and Study Group leaders. This year’s Gasshuku will engage on fundamental Kihon, Reiho and Kenjutsu Waza, and may allow us to proceed to more advanced techniques depending on kihon progression. Eligible KNBK members may participate in Iai Bu Shinza (grading) on Sunday May 10th.

Carl Long, Kyoshi. 22nd Soshihan, KNBK. Carl Long, Soshihan, serves as the 22nd Generation Headmaster of the Masaoka-ha lineage of Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaijutsu and as such, is Hombu-cho of the KNBK Intl. Hombu Dojo and Kenshoin (Inspector/Advisor) of Iaido and Batto-do for the International Division of the Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, the oldest governing organization for the martial arts of Japan. Carl Long, Hanshi Ho, holds the grades of 8th Dan, Shorin-ryu Karate-do; 8th Dan, Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu Iaijutsu; 6th Dan, Shito-ryu Karate-do; 5th Dan, Shindo Muso-ryu Jojutsu; and dan grades in Aikido and Kobudo.

Sunday, May 17th
9 am! Iai Bu Grading or Grading Evaluations
10 am to 4 pm— Ono Ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu
